Planned Gifts in 2014

We’re finding that during the difficult economic times, and what we’re going through right now in the recovery— planned gifts and bequests are extremely popular. That’s because planned gifts are less tied to overall economic change than other types of giving.

Now when you talk with someone about a gift who feels particularly pinched or financially stressed, you should talk about the possibility of a planned gift. Or a bequest.

Here’s a graph that demonstrates how planned gifts fared in the ten years up to 2013. What we hear about 2014 thus far indicates the increase will be even more significant.
